According to the international grading standards, intelligent driving can be divided into five levels: L1-L5, of which L4 can be simply understood as under specific conditions, the driver can “get rid of his hands and eyes”, and the accident responsibility is borne by the car company. At this stage, intelligent driving generally has the problem of blurring the boundaries of responsibility division.

According to reports, the intelligent parking safety package for the Eye of the God vehicle released by BYD refers to the accident caused by the abnormality of the parking assistance system or algorithm error of the vehicle equipped with the “Eye of the Gods” intelligent driving assistance system, the maintenance costs, third-party property losses, and personal injury losses that should be borne by the car in accordance with the law or judicial judgment, but it does not include the additional amount paid for the purpose of settlement and understanding, nor does it include the cost of the vehicle owner, manager, The compensation that the user should bear in accordance with the law for violating laws and regulations shall clarify the ownership of intelligent driving.

This means that the safety of users in the intelligent parking assistance scenario of the Eye of the Gods and the losses borne by the car in accordance with the law do not need to go through the insurance process, and can directly contact BYD for after-sales processing. BYD officially said that the biggest benefit to users is that it will not affect next year’s insurance rates, and premiums will not rise.

At the same time, BYD officially said that it is about to carry out the largest intelligent driving OTA in the history of the Eye of the Gods. This OTA upgrade of the Eye of the Gods fully covers more than ten functions in the three major sectors of parking, driving and safety, involving a variety of models on the three major platforms of the Eye of the Gods A/B/C.

In terms of parking, the Eye of the Gods has added functions such as three-speed parking, front parking, offset parking, and automatic rearview mirrors for parking in narrow parking spaces, and optimized the suspended obstacle recognition function.

In terms of driving, the Eye of the God can cover more scenarios, such as roundabouts, continuous detours in complex scenes, detours in emergency lanes in high-speed construction sections, multiple U-turns on narrow roads, etc., and also adds a flashing light and horn reminder function in the scene of front traffic jams.

In terms of safety, the Eye of the Gods AEB function makes it easier to identify low obstacles, and can achieve emergency braking for two-wheeled vehicles entering the lane at 80km/h at night, and can also achieve two-stage comfortable braking when AEB is triggered at 120km/h.

At present, BYD’s “Eye of the Gods” intelligent driving model has exceeded 1 million units.
