On June 25, Elektrobit announced the signing of a joint development agreement (JDA) with Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), one of the world’s leading electronics manufacturers, to jointly develop EV. OS – A flexible and AI-centric software platform designed to supportElectric vehicleRapid Transformation to Software-Defined Vehicles.
Elektrobit and Foxconn will join forces to create a smart electric vehicle platform EV. OS, including software and hardware total solutions, to drive industry-first scalable supply chain innovation. The two companies share a vision to develop, innovate, and deliver market-ready smart vehicle platform solutions that reduce complexity and total cost of ownership, scale production, and accelerate commercialization in the mobility industry to deliver tangible benefits to consumers. The smart electric vehicle platform will include a reference E/E architecture (EV. EEA), non-differentiated EV operating systems, and EV applications.
Upon completion, EV. OS vs EV. The EEA will form the core pillar of the future-proof software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform, enabled by Elektrobit’s software platform integration capabilities. The platform supports multiple high-performance and real-time ECUs and enables service-oriented architecture (SOA) across all functional domains – including semantic in-vehicle APIs that support third-party applications. The entire development process will be supported by an efficient CI/CT/CD toolchain and a three-level virtualization environment.
Elektrobit chief executive officer Maria Anhalt “Elektrobit has a unique value proposition in the field of automotive embedded software development, not only with the ability to develop its own software products, but also with the ability to integrate and certify large-scale mass production projects. Our partnership with Foxconn is another important milestone in the development of software-defined vehicles. By combining Elektrobit’s expertise in automotive software with Foxconn’s strengths in manufacturing and hardware innovation, we are creating a scalable platform that reduces complexity, shortens development cycles, and supports future mobility business models. ”
