Previously, in January this year, Tesla officials revealed that China’s first batch of V4 supercharging stations were about to land.

According to public information, Tesla V4 SuperCharging pilesIt can provide charging support of up to 500 kilowatts for electric vehicles and 1.2 megawatts for Tesla’s commercial Semi trucks. Moreover, compared with Tesla’s commonly deployed V3 supercharging piles in China, the peak charging power of V4 supercharging piles is about 250kW, and the peak power has doubled.

At the same time, the V4 chargers include new physical payment terminals, longer cables that can connect to EV charging ports from other manufacturers, and CCS connectors, so EV owners of other brands do not need to carry adapters when using these chargers.

In addition, V4 racks can be deployed faster, with up to 8 charging stations per rack powering them. At the same time, V4 Superchargers will reduce complexity and, more importantly, reduce the space required for each site cabinet, allowing for faster site rollouts. Tesla said that the V4 cabinet hardware is designed with reliability in mind and can provide the equivalent of three times the power density of the previous one at a lower cost.

In addition, Tesla said that in June 2025, Tesla Superchargers will exceed 70,000 worldwide. Among them, in Chinacontinentregion, Tesla has built and opened more than 2,100 supercharging stations, with more than 11,600 supercharging piles, and has also cooperated with the construction of more than 2,500 destination charging piles. The charging network layout covers 100% of the provincial capitals and municipalities directly under the Central Government in Chinese mainland, and more V4 supercharging piles will be put into use across the country.
