According to foreign media reports, Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently slammed the latest version of President Trump’s trillion-dollar tax bill passed by the U.S. Senate, warning of cutsElectric vehicleand other clean energy subsidies will have a “devastating” impact on the United States.
The U.S. Senate passed the controversial bill on the evening of June 28, local time. The bill will accelerate the elimination of the popular EV consumer tax credit of up to $7,500 per vehicle. The previous proposal planned to end subsidies for most electric vehicles by the end of this year, but the new version of the bill advances the tax credit deadline to September 30 while eliminating tax incentives for used electric vehicles and commercial electric vehicles.

As the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Musk commented on the bill on his social platform X. Musk pointed out that the bill will destroy millions of American jobs and “seriously damage future industries while sending benefits to traditional industries.”
Musk has previously made clear his views on Trump’s tax bill. Last month, he attended a farewell party for him in the Oval Office of the White House, and shortly thereafter slammed the bill as “full of political fertilizer” and called it a “disgusting failure.”
The tech billionaire’s latest criticism of the bill may once again intensify his public conflict with Trump. Previously, after Musk resigned from the relevant position of the U.S. government’s Department of Efficiency, there has been a rift in the relationship between the two sides.
After leaving office, Musk has focused on running his own business in recent weeks. Since leaving the government, his political influence has waned. Still, the billionaire has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into Trump’s campaign in 2024, enough to show that if he is passionate enough about an issue or candidate and reboots political contributions, his money can still have a significant impact.
Recently, when asked about Musk-related topics on the Fox News program, Trump told host Maria Bartiromo: “I don’t communicate much with him, but I think Elon is a great person and I know he will always succeed.” But he’s been a little emotional lately, and it’s not appropriate to do so. ”
